Dooney & Bourke started in 1975 when Peter Dooney and Frederic Bourke launched their namesake in South Norwalk, Connecticut. The duo started off with two introductory products: surcingle belts, which were popular due to their unique vibrant colors and stripes, and classic suspenders.
In 1981, Dooney & Bourke branched out into the handbag business with the release of the Tack Case and the Equestrian Bag, both made from bridle leather. Along with their original purse, distributors such as Nordstrom, Brooks Brothers, and Saks Fifth Avenue, they opened The Company Store in Norwalk, Connecticut which sold among other things Dooney & Bourke Merchandise. In 1983, with the development of their famous All-Weather Leather (AWL) bag, the first AWL handbag collection was released featuring a duck logo with a russet leather trim. In 2006 and 2007, the "Emma Bag," a small oval sized bag named after Emma Roberts, was created. In 2007, Hayden Panettiere, an actress on the NBC television series Heroes, designed a new bag for Dooney & Bourke

This years merchandise includes a new Dooney and Bourke pattern inspired by dining options found at the Festival. This new Festival pattern will be available in the Zip Satchel, Letter Carrier, and Downtown Shopper styles. Each bag will come with a special leather hang tag. NOTE: I will post better pictures and prices when we visit opening weekend.
The second collection is called Alice in Wonderland. Three handbags inspired by Walt Disneys Alice in Wonderland will be released on August 22 via the app. Titled Tea Time, this collection includes a wristlet, a letter carrier, and a shopper tote.
Finally, "Dumbo". This year, Walt Disneys Dumbo celebrates its 75th anniversary. The film was originally released in October 1941, and has inspired classic Disney Parks attractions such as Dumbo Flying Elephants in Fantasyland. To celebrate this milestone anniversary, we�re releasing three handbags on August 29 via the app. The collection includes a shopper tote, a letter carrier, and a wristlet. Look for an anniversary-themed hangtag on select styles.

The first collection is called Mickey Thru the Years and features a salute to the one and only Mickey Mouse. Well offer a large letter carrier, a tote and a wristlet. Once released in early May, look for them in merchandise locations that currently carry Dooney & Bourke items.
The second collection is called Romancing Minnie, and it will only be found at Cherry Tree Lane inside the Marketplace Co-Op at Disney Springs Marketplace starting in mid-to-late May. These leather bags wont be carried at Disneyland Resort locations at this time. Look for three styles including a zip satchel, a large letter carrier, and a pouchette.
Finally, we will release three bags inspired by characters and icons from Star Wars. This is the first time weve introduced black leather bags with embossed characters and icons. These items are due to arrive around mid-to-late May at Legends of Hollywood in Disneys Hollywood Studios, or at The Star Trader in Disneyland park.

Finally, we will release a new Dooney & Bourke collection designed by Disney Design Group artist Paola Gutierrez. This black-and-white pattern shows silhouettes of Disney characters riding vintage bicycles (you may recall seeing the artwork in this story from early January. Select bags released during the Festival will include a specially designed hangtag. There are no immediate plans to carry these bags at Disneyland Resort or on our Disney Parks online store; they will only be found at Epcot during this initial release. These items will be released at the Festival Center, a themed shopping and demonstration area located between Mission: SPACE and Universe of Energy pavilions at Epcot. This year, the Festival Center will be open Friday-Sunday during the Festival Weekends. Items will also be found in other merchandise locations in Future World and World Showcase.
